The last race of the series took place this Sunday, hosted by BRJ Run and Tri Club at Jubilee Park in Huntingdon.
The host club had a great team turnout, taking 1st out of the 16 clubs in the senior race (BRJ have only ever came 1st once before in a frostbite round back in 2011) and 4th in the juniors, despite the weather, which proved to be very cold, wet and windy.
Leading home the club and finishing in 2nd place was in form John Uff. He put in a cracking performance completing the 5 mile course in 29:45. 16 year old James Orrell ran brilliantly to finish next for BRJ in 9th position in 30:18. First home for the clubs ladies and finishing 4th Female overall was Shelley Duffy in 65th place 34:31. Sabrina Crothall in 75th place also ran very well to take 6th Female overall in 34:46.
Completing the scoring positions for BRJ were 14th- Josh Chapman- 30:45, 20th- Rob Farrant- 31:19, 35th- William Dales- 32:46, 39th- Neil Jarvis- 32:57, 48th- Chirag Godhania- 33:30 and 144th- Hanna Brickell- 38:07.
Junior Frostbite
Leading home the club’s juniors and having a superb run was Liam Conway who took 3rd place in 8:20. Also scoring for BRJ were Dominic Pauley- 12th- 8:43, Keelan Duffy- 14th- 9:00, 24th- James Newham- 9:24 and Freya Harris- 92nd- 10:43.
The seniors finished the series in 3rd place overall, their highest position in the 30years of the league. Highest previous position being back in 1996 where they took 4th. The juniors finished the series in 4th place.
