Frostbite Friendly League (Race 6)
As has been the case continuously since 1988, BRJ hosted the final event of the 6 race 2024 / 2025 series. After a frosty start to the day, the weather improved considerably although conditions underfoot on both the Junior & Senior courses were unsurprisingly very muddy thus slowing most individuals finish times.
The Frostbite League starts again in October & we all hope that these events will be less weather affected as they were during the 2024 / 2025 season.
The BRJ winners of the Frostbite “Runners of the Series” will be announced at the Club AGM on 20 March.
Finally, thanks go to your Frostbite Manager, Claire Few, & her core team for their support across the 6 events. The full suite of results can be found on the Frostbite Friendly League website

On the day, the increased number of Juniors delivered BRJ with a 5th place finish from the 14 teams, their highest series finish position, with the Juniors missing 4th place by just finish 1 position. The 5th place finish meant that our Juniors moved up the league table by a massive 4 places to finish 8th overall.
SENIOR
The numerous other running events on the day & those members officiating around the course meant that the Seniors were represented by only 22 members within the 331 finishers.
William Dales was again our lead finisher despite taking a dive into a muddy section of the course. Lead lady was again, Christine Howard.
It should be noted that finishing positions on the day were, post race, reduced by 1 place. This was because for the 5th time this season, a non-BRJ runner, was disqualified as a result of not wearing a club vest / T-Shirt as required by the League’s rules.
The Senior stats were:
PB at Venue
Slawomir Dziarmaga
Debut at Venue

For those of you planning to compete in a full Marathon during 2025 the Marathon “season” is fast approaching. Your Results Officer, Mike Gullis, is very keen to record your achievement(s), given the potential that your Marathon finish time might be your Club PB & that 1 FULL Marathon counts towards the 2025 Senior Running Championships.

Mike is especially keen to hear from those members that entered a Marathon event before becoming a club member & those running via a charity place as you may not be shown as a BRJ member in the finish results!
