Parkrun Junior 2K
A total of 5 BRJ’ers were in action at Cambourne & Jubilee Park, with 3 new Club 2K PB’s achieved between them. At Cambourne #158, Finley Harrison finished in 7th position.

At Jubilee Park #318 there were 3 PB’ers, namely:-
i). Ewan Mackie – By 2 Secs compared to Jubilee #318 (PB #4 of 2025)
ii). Eloise Eason – By 31 Secs compared to Jubilee Park #314 (PB #2)
iii). Freya Brosnan – By 34 Secs compared to Jubilee Park #317 (PB #2 & Parkrun #200)

Parkrun 5K
The 2nd cancellation at Huntingdon in as many weeks meant that 70 Club members sought out other events far & wide. There were BRJ returns to
Aberystwyth, Brighton & Hove (Course Best & Parkrun #375 for Alex Mitton), Brockwell Park (Course Best by Angus Johnston but missing a new Club PB by just 3 Secs), Bug Hunter Waters (Course Best for Cameron Taylor-Hall, Debut Club 5K for Junior Ewan Mackie & Parkrun #375 for Coach Paul Mitton), Castle Park, Coldhams Common, Downham Market Academy, Ferry Meadows, Fulbourn Hospital, Great Lines Medway, Harrogate, Haverhill, Irchester Country, Kettering (1st lady for Mica Covell), North Walsham, Pocket (Course Bests for Darren Butler & Matthew Pendlebury), Rushcliffe, Rutland Water, The Plens, University of Northampton, Whittlesey & Wimpole.

The only new Club 5K PB was secured by Gareth Thomas at Storey’s Field which was by an 8 Sec margin compared to Zuiderpark #101 (Netherlands) of October 2023.

2 members made Club Parkrun Venue Debuts, both overseas The first was by Mark Jackman at Luitpold, near Munich (Germany). Meanwhile in Perth, Australia, Alice Noyes competed at Quinns Rock & was joined by former BRJ member, Louise Skipworth, who emigrated in 2016. Her 2016 Parkrun PB was secured at Huntingdon at 00:24:45, but now sits at 00:24:13.

Bedford 10K & 1/2 Marathon
7 BRJ’ers headed to Bedford’s Russell Park to participate in the 2 events on offer. Both race courses were flat & followed the course of the River Great Ouse in windy, but dry conditions.

Bedford 10K – Richard Braddick was the sole BRJ’er among the 285 finishers. Having overcome a recent series of injuries, Richard had a great run finishing in 43rd position in a time of 00:46:34. This represented a new Club 10K

PB by a 36 Sec margin compared to October 2023’s Duxford Dash. Richard also took gold medal in his Age Category.

1/2 Marathon – Among the 372 finishers, Adam D’Souza led home the BRJ 6 in a time that was just 9 Secs shy of his existing Club PB. The windy conditions may have influenced this outcome. Our leading lady was Nicki McMahon who thankfully seems to be regaining her fitness levels following a bout of injuries. A steady run by Sue Ray saw her secure gold medal in her Age Category. Leicestershire 1/2 Marathon
The race started & finished at Charnwood College, Loughborough. Our Women’s Captain, Felicity Baillie, was among the 1,267 finishers completed the distance as a training run in 2:15:37 in position 991.

Royal Norwich 1/2 Marathon
The event, based at the Royal Norwich Golf & Country Park, was being used by Alex Howard as part of his training campaign ahead of the Cambridge 1/2 Marathon on 9th March. Alex completed the distance in position 445 / 816 & finishing a few seconds under 2 hours in 1:59:24.

Tarpley 20M
Annette Newton was the sole BRJ entrant in this race which was February’s “Nominated” event in the 2025 Senior Running Championships. Of the 328 finishers, Annette completed the course in position 237 in 3:05:01. Annette won the gold medal in her Age Category some 6 Min 25 Secs ahead of the Runner-Up. A Gender / Age Graded score of 85.33% counts towards the Running Championships competition.

March 23rd – Thorney 10K
April 6th – Rutland Water Spring 1/2 Marathon
May 11th – Eye (Peterborough) 10K
