Parkrun Junior 2K
At Jubilee Park #317 the 4 BRJ Juniors were led home by Ewan Mackie
in 4th place. His time of 00:10:36 represented a new Club 2K PB (#2 of 2025) by 5 Secs compared to Jubilee Park #314. Next home in 8th place was new member, Freya Brosnan, in her Club 2K Debut. Alexander & Eloise Eason completed the BRJ finishers.

Parkrun 5K
A total of 64 BRJ’ers were in action with returns to Bug Hunter Waters (Course Best for Dan Ainscow), Downham Market Academy, Ferry Meadows, Holkham, Littleport, March, Milton Country (Course Best for Clive Best), Milton Keynes, Pocket (Course Bests for Richard Braddick & Michael Brosnan), Quakers Walk, Westpark (Munich, Germany) & Yarborough Leisure Centre.

At Conwy (Wales), Pippa Waite secured Club PB #3 of 2025 by a 55 Sec margin compared to Huntingdon #532 of 1 February. Finally, at Storeys Field #178, Chloe Wilson completed Parkrun #350. This Parkrun course is notoriously fast & again lived up to its reputation as it saw 3 BRJ’ers secure new Club 5K PB’s:-

i). Emily Miller by 1 Min 2 Secs compared to Bug Hunter Waters #14 of 21 September 2024 (PB #1 of 2025).
ii). James Porter by 22 Secs compared to Bug Hunters Waters #29 of 18 January 2025 (PB #2).
iii). Ella Wakeley by 10 Secs compared to Storeys Field #176( PB #3).

Frank Holmes made a BRJ Venue Debut at Black Rock, whilst Alice Noyes, in her 400th Parkrun, debuted at Maleny Trail on Australia’s Sunshine Coast.

Huntingdon was cancelled as a result of poor course conditions although several individuals, including a BRJ member but who shall remain nameless, turned up expecting to run.

Battersea Park 10K
Alex Mitton was among the 805 finishers in this long standing London Park based run. Alex finished in 37th position in 00:36:03.

Welwyn Garden City 10K
Nicki McMahon, Lee Watkins & Kathy Unwin were the club representatives among the 364 finishers. It was a great days running as all 3 either secured a new Club PB and / or an Age Category podium position. Our PB’ers were:-

i). Lee Watkins by 2 Mins 35 Secs compared to the Larnaca (Cyprus) 10K of November 2024 (PB #1 of 2025).
ii). Kathy Unwin by 1 Min 38 Secs compared to January 2025’s Hatfield 10K (PB #3).

Stamford St Valentines 30K
This annual event, hosted by Stamford Striders, both started & finished in Stamford & included a course that toured many of the scenic local villages & a famous Open Air Theatre. Parts of this course are fairly undulating thus making this 18.76M course a great pre-Spring Marathon tester and this was particularly relevant for Paul Mitton who is training for not 1 but 2 Spring Marathons, namely Brighton & London.

In 2025, the overall race winner led home the 522 finishers breaking the course record which had stood for over 10 years. From those finishers, 7 represented BRJ. The BRJ squad was led home by a flying William Dales in a sub-2 hour time in 20th position. This was Will’s Club Debut over 30K & his finish time makes him the 6th fastest BRJ Man over the distance, behind 5th place ex-member Phil Rudd who set a time of 1:51:50 back in 2003.

Next home, Joe Harding also had a good run finishing in a new Club 30K PB by a 54 Sec margin compared to the 2024 race & secured the Bronze Age Category position. Joe is now the 10th fastest BRJ Man behind 9th place ex-member Rhyse Plummer-Coles who ran 2:06:03 in 2017.

3 other members successfully completed their Club 30K Debuts, namely Joan Clark, Annoushka Lingham & Paul Treadwell. Paul was using the event as part of his endurance training for April’s Paris Marathon, was especially pleased with his Chip Time as it enabled him to sneak under the 3 hour mark.
