Thorney 10K (23rd March 2025) – UPDATE
Entries are now OPEN for this local 10K. This is a key event in 2025 as it incorporates the England Athletics (EA) Masters 10K Championships Qualifier, the Cambs AA 10K Championships & more importantly it is a “Nominated” event in the 2025 BRJ Senior Running Champs. You are advised to enter without delay as the EA Masters qualification competition is attracting significant interest & over 70% of the places have already been sold<

Parkrun 5K
The following BRJ’ers secured new Club 5K PB’s:-
ii). At Bug Hunter Waters #24 there was a new Club 5K PB for Kathy Unwin by a 45 Secs compared to November 9th’s Peel Parkrun #155. With 8 PB’s, Kathy has moved into 3rd position in the Senior Women’s “Most Running PB’s” competition. There were also Course Bests for Claire Ashton, Paul Mitton & Neil Whitaker.
iii). At Hove Promenade #401, the in-form Alex Mitton achieved PB #9 of 2024 representing a 7 Sec improvement based on the time set at Hove Prom #393. Alex is now in joint 3rd place, with Simon Mayes, in the “Most Road PB’s” Competition.
BRJ’ers made Club Debuts at 3 Parkrun events, namely Anna & Clive Best at Mudjimba Beach (Sunshine Coast, Australia), Stuart Turner at Loch Leven (Kinross, Scotland) & Sue Ray at Jubilee (Spennymoor).
At Huntingdon #523, Colin Reeve secured PB #2 of 2024 by a 21 Sec margin compared to his run at Huntingdon #521.
Adam Covell completed Parkrun #200.
Grafham Water 10M
There were 2 different 10 Mile events on offer, both over the same muddy course.
Trail – Michael Brosnan, in his Debut Club 10M, was among the 204 finishers. He completed the distance in position 73 in 1:26:36.
Canicross – Adam D’Souza & Kerry Surkitt were the sole BRJ’ers among the 67 finishers. Adam completed the distance in 15th position in 1:15:23 which was a 10 Sec improvement compared to October’s Fenland 10M. Kerry followed closely behind in 32nd position in 1:29:47 securing Bronze Medal in her Age Category.
Xmas Canter 1/2 Marathon
As part of her training campaign for a charity place in April’s London Marathon, Chloe Rudd was among the 119 finishers. Chloe completed the distance in 86th position in a time of 2:28:13.
