PARKRUN
A plea from our Results Officer. Mike notes that a number of BRJ Junior & Senior members are participating in both 2K & 5K Parkruns but their results do not identify them as being BRJ members. This means these results & achievements are not being recorded in club records. Would you spend a few minutes to double-check that your Parkrun profile is linked to the BRJ club? Thank you!

Hertfordshire 1/2 Marathon

New York Marathon
Both Annette & David Newton previously competed at New York back in November 2023. Although both met the qualifying standard for the 2024 event, David was unable to compete as a result of injury that had also forced a withdrawal from Chicago Marathon a few weeks earlier.

The New York course is recognised as being quite tough as it includes many twists & turns & has 1,000 feet of elevation across the distance. Weather conditions at the start were a chilly 8 Degrees with a 14 mph wind. From the 55,646 finishers, Annette completed the course in position 25,002 in 4:16:29, securing 4th in the 70-74 Age Group, just 2 Mins behind the 3rd placer which would have matched her placing in the 2023 race. Annette’s Age / Gender graded score counting towards the Senior Running Champs is 82.81%.
