Parkrun Junior 2K
6 Juniors were in 2K action this weekend. George Jenner returned to Herne Bay Memorial Park finishing just shy of his Course Best time. Meanwhile, at Jubilee Park #294, Jack Scott secured 1st place & there were 2 new Club 2K PB’ers for Iris Purser (by 25 Secs since event #266 from January 2024) & Rhys Coverdale by a 1 Sec margin compared to event #287 of June 2024.
Parkrun 5K
BRJ’ers returned to Belvoir Castle, Coldhams Common (Course Best for Stanley Coe), Dereham, Loch Neaton Watton, Rutland Water, Sedgefield, Sense Valley Forest Park, South Manchester (1st female for Felicity Baillie), Teignmouth Promenade (Course Best by Nigel Maggs), Torbay Velopark & Wisbech. There were 3 new Club 5K PB’s which were:-
Pocket #242 – Junior Finley Harrison improved his Club 5K PB by 7 Secs compared to his run the previous week at Pocket #241. This was PB #4 of 2024.
Storeys Field #154 – 2 new Club 5K PB’s were achieved
i). Simon Mayes by 18 Secs since Storeys Field #148 in July 2024. PB #7 of 2024.
ii). Robin Cooper by 19 Secs compared to July’s Race 5 of the Peterborough Grand Prix at Ferry Meadows. This was PB #16.
In The Netherlands, Amie Taylor-Hall made a Club Venue Debut at the Amsterdamse Bos Parkrun.
At Huntingdon #508, 5 new PB’s were achieved by:-
i). Junior Hannah Lasseter by 1 Min 45 Secs (PB #4)
ii). Ruth Lasseter by 49 Secs (PB #4)
iii). Paul Beeson by 26 Secs (PB #5)
iv). Eszter Gulacsy by15 Secs (PB #8)
v). Anthony Charters by 3 Secs (PB #3)
Ian Lasseter completed Parkrun #275 & Paul Mitton #350 Lastly, Alice Noyes stepped down as Race Director after 9 years in the role.
MULTI-SPORTS
Oundle Triathon
BRJ’ers competed in the Youth & Sprint distances. Both events utilised Oundle School’s Indoor 50M pool.
Youth – From the 27 finishers, Junior Henry Reeve completed the distance in 18th position in a total time of 00:42:52. Both the Bike & run phases took place within the school grounds. His stats were:-
