Parkrun Junior 2K
Our Juniors were in action at Cambridge, Jubilee Park & Market Harborough.
Cambridge #411 – Our 2 participants were Stanley & Sophie Coe. Stanley finished in 9th position securing a new Club 2K PB by a 1 Min 25 Sec margin compared to his run at Jubilee Park #280 in May 2024. This was Stanley’s 5th PB of 2024 & is now joint 2nd with Ethan Ward in the Junior Boys “Most Road Running PB’s” competition.The current leader in this competition is Isaac Friswell with 6 PB’s.
Jubilee Park #293 – 4 of our Juniors attended with the overall field being led home by the in-form Ethan Ward, who was fresh from his recent 3K PB at Race 5 of the Peterborough Grand Prix. On the day, Keira Coverdale was in best form securing a new Club 2K by an 8 Sec margin compared to Jubilee Park #283 of June 2024 This was Keira’s 5th PB of 2024 & now currently leads the Junior Girls in the “Most Road Running PB’s” competition.
Market Harborough #273 – In his Debut Club 2K, Joey Phillips finished in 2nd position overall in a time of 00:07:48. This finish time places him as 17th fastest from the 69 Junior Boys that have posted a Club 2K result.
Parkrun 5K
BRJ’ers returned to Bicester, Bug Hunter Waters (Course Best for Robin Cooper), Burnage, Burnham & Highbridge, Coldhams Common, Dereham, Fell Foot Newby Bridge, Fulbourn Hospital (Course Best for Junior Stanley Coe), Gateshead, Great Denham (Course Best for Kerry Surkitt), Market Harborough (Course Best for Lisa Shacklock), Norwich (Course Best for Gerry Pye), Pocket (Course Best for Simon Mayes & Debut Club 5K for Junior Finley Harrison), Poole, Southwark, Uckfield (Parkrun #375 for Mel Gearing), The Plens & Yarborough Leisure Centre.
At Huntingdon #507, Alex Mitton finished in 6th position whilst Junior Thomas Hunt secured PB #2 of 2024 with a 44 Sec improvement to his run in Mid-July’s Huntingdon #503.
Peterborough Grand Prix Series 3K & 5K (Race 5)
The final of the 5 races of the 2024 Grand Prix, hosted by PANVAC, took place at Ferry Meadows. BRJ had a huge turnout, comprising 5 Juniors & 28 Seniors. The conditions on the night were still quite humid but thankfully much cooler than at previous races, with a nice breeze.
3K – Our 4 Juniors were again led home by Iris Purser who was the first Girl finisher & earning a new Club 3K PB (#4 of 2024) by a 31 Sec margin based on the finish time from Race 1 of the Grand Prix at Eye.
Iris was closely followed by Ethan Ward who also set a new Club 3K PB from Race 1 by 3 Secs, his 5th Club PB of 2024.

5K – Our squad was led home by Simon Mayes closely followed buy Joe Harding. Lead Woman was again Felicity Baillie ahead of Mica Covell. 2 new Club 5K PB’s were secured on the night, alongside an Age Category podium place for Amanda Roland-Convey. The 2 PB’ers were:
i). Robin Cooper – By 39 Secs compared to his time at Huntingdon Parkrun #506 in May. This was his 15th Club PB of 2024 & currently leads the Senior Men’s “Most Running PB’s” competition.
ii). Adam D’Souza – By 19 Secs compared to his time from the Norwich Parkrun in June. This was his 14th Club PB of 2024 & is currently in 2nd place in the “Most PB’s ” competition.
Our unluckiest members were Simon Mayes, Andrew Stevenson & Harriet Dolby who all missed new Club 5K PB’s by 2, 4 & 6 Secs respectively.

MULTI-SPORTS
St Neots Triathlon Series Race 3
Race 3 was the final event in the 2024 series taking place from Riverside Park. 2 BRJ’ers participated in the Standard Distance in good conditions. However, in the swim phase, the 64 finishers faced a significantly strong current on the return journey. Both BRJ’ers secured Age Category podium positions, their respective results & stats were:
