Parkrun Junior 2K
3 BRJ Juniors, George Jenner, Alexander Eason & Amelie Alexander-Cahill were in action at a sunny Jubilee Park. George led home the entire field in a time of 00:09:02.

Parkrun 5K
BRJ’ers returned to Barry Island, Conwy, Hunstanton Promenade (Course Best for Andrew Stevenson), Jersey Farm, Leicester Victoria (Course Best for Lisa Shacklock), North Walsham, Sandringham (Course Best for Kerry Surkitt), Storeys Field & Whittlesey (Course Best for Nick Harris). At Bug Hunter Waters, Simon Mayes got a Course Best whilst Robin Cooper secured yet another new Club 5K PB, this time by 3 Secs (PB #12 of 2024) compared to his time in June 2024’s Race 1 Eye GP 5K.

2 members made BRJ Venue Debuts, both in Kent, which were Peter Jackson at The Leas Minster & Gareth Thomas at Sittingbourne.

This weeks Huntingdon recognised the forthcoming marriage of Karen James & Gerry Pye with a very amusing marriage based recital of the various Parkrun rules by Alison Ainsworth followed by the runners forming an Honour Guard for Karen & Gerry to take up their positions on the start line. A very nice touch!

Slawomir Dziarmaga secured Club PB #3 of 2024 wth a 29 Sec improvement & his first sub-21 Minute run. Junior Thomas Hunt made a Club 5K Debut & Jeremy Bottley completed Parkrun #175.

Peterborough Grand Prix Series 3K & 5K (Race 3)
Race 3 of 5 was hosted by Werrington Joggers. As the race it was on the same evening as England beating Netherlands to reach the Euro 24 final the number of runners in both races were significantly reduced. Nevertheless, those Club Members that did attend put in some great individual performances.

3K – 4 BRJ’ers were among the 52 finishers. Iris Purser was again our lead finisher securing the Gold Medal in her Age Category. Unluckily Iris missed a new Club 3K PB by just 3 seconds. Isaac Friswell was again our leading Boy.

The full set of 3K results are:

Having just re-joined the Club after a long break, Cameron Taylor-Smith made his Club 5K Debut as a Senior, but although he set a excellent time his result was shy of the 00:19:23 he set as a Junior at Ferry Meadows way back in August 2018. MOST ROAD RUNNING PB’S 2024 COMPETITIONS (UPDATE)
Although the Junior & Senior PB competitions finish on 31st December 2024, the mid-term details of the current top 3 individuals in these competitions are detailed below.

The positions take into account reported race results up to & including events completed on the 14 July. For the avoidance of doubt, the competition only covers results deemed to be Club PB’s, meaning that Parkrun Course PB’s will NOT count UNLESS that time also represents a Club PB at that distance.

Should any member have any questions about either of these competitions or would like to receive the spreadsheet that details those events deemed to qualify as a Club PB, you should contact our Results Co-ordinator (Mike Gullis) via his BRJ e-mail address which is: email hidden; JavaScript is required
