Parkrun Junior 2K (7 July)
At Cambourne #135, Finley Harrison was our sole participant finishing just shy of his existing Club PB. Meanwhile at Jubilee Park #288, 3 BRJ’ers were in action with Isaac Friswelll taking the runners-up position in a time of 00:08:15 which represented a new Club 2K PB (#6 of 2024) by a 20 Sec margin when compared to his run at West End (March) back in August 2023.

Parkrun 5K (6 July)
BRJ’ers returned to Bug Hunter Waters (Course Bests for Simon Pascoe, Chloe & Ian Wilson), Ferry Meadows, Pocket, Quakers Walk, Sheringham & The Pastures. At Storeys Field #148, The in-form Simon Mayes secured Club 5K PB #5 of 2024 with a 24 Sec improvement over the time he set at event #143 at the same venue. .

At Huntingdon, Joe Harding was the Leader of the Pack, taking 1st place overall but outside of his existing Cub 5K PB.

Fen Gallop Running Festival
The event included 4M & 10K races with club participation in both distances:-

4M – The significant rainfall in previous days meant that the course had to be re-routed in some areas thus the actual distance run was 200 metres longer than advertised. Of the 75 finishers, Junior Stanley Coe made his Club 4M debut in 19th position in a time of 00:35:31. This time represented an improvement of 1 Min 40 Secs compared to his previous run at the event in 2023 as a non-BRJ member.

10K – Unlike the 4M event, the 261 finishers were not faced with a course variation. Felicity Baillie was our lead runner & 2nd lady overall in 26th position in a time of 00:43:10 followed by Michael Shaw, finishing 158th in 00:59:31. Felicity secured the Silver medal in her Age Category.

Holkham 10K
3 BRJ’ers were among the 413 finishers. There respective finish stats were:-

Odyssey 12 Hour Run
The event was based at Riverside Park in St Neots. The participants are required to compete over a 12 hour period over laps of 6K. The individual completing the most complete laps within the 12 hour limit is declared the winner. BRJ’ers Rachael Dent, Kerry Surkitt & Kathy Unwin took up the challenge. Rachael, in training for her Debut Marathon at Stevenage in October had to date only run 18 Miles managed, alongside Kerry a massive 49 Miles i.e. nearly 2 full marathons. They were joint 3rd placed team. Well done to our squad whose respective stats were:-
