Parkrun Junior 2K
In very warm conditions, 2 BRJ Juniors were in action at 2 different venues namely Jubilee Park by Alexander Eason & Cambourne by Finley Harrison).
Parkrun 5K
BRJ’ers returned to Coldhams Common, Ferry Meadows (Parkrun #225 for David Newton), Ford, Great Yarmouth North Beach (Parkrun #25 for Junior Stanley Coe), Irchester Country, Kings Lynn, March (Parkrun #250 for Claire Few), Northampton, Oldham, Panshangar, Storeys Field & The Pastures.
BRJ’ers secured new Club 5K PB’s these were Adam D’Souza by 52 Secs at Norwich (PB #10 of 2024),
Our unluckiest Parkrunner was Simon Mayes who exactly matched his existing Club 5K PB (00:19:28) at Milton Keynes.
Seb Burley made a Club Venue Debut at Chichester securing 4th place overall in a time of 00:19:17, which represents a new Club 5K PB by 28 Secs. Lastly, Jane Farrow debuted at Severn Valley Country.
Huntingdon saw 2 new Club 5K PB’s. These were for Robin Cooper by a margin of 53 Secs (PB #5 of 2024) & Ruth Lasseter by 50 Secs (PB #3). Parkrun milestones were achieved by Mica Covell (#50) & Alex Mitton #350.
Stanwick Lakes Summer 10K
After his Club 5K PB the previous day, Robin Cooper was among the 161 finishers completing what was his Club 10K Debut race in 7th position in a time of 00:47:13. Robin secured the bronze medal in his Age Category.
RAB Scafell Sky Race
Slawomir Dziamaga was the sole BRJ entrant in this tough Lake District based challenge. The circular course, starting & finishing in the Great Langdale Valley, was over a 40K distance & included very technical sections over mountain terrain, single tracks & scree. The course has an overall ascent of 2,800 feet including a run to the summit of Scaffel Pike & has a 10 hours limit. The course record is a staggering 4:30:54.
There were 125 finishers with a significant number unable to finish. Slawomit completed the distance in 99th position in a time of 9:00:42
*SENIOR RUNNING CHAMPS 2024 – DATE CHANGE*
The “Nominated: event in the 2024 competition for July is the Eye Charity 5M. As the date of the General Election conflicted, the race date has changed to Thursday 18th July. Details of this event & the others that form the 2024 programme are detailed in the Club Honours section of the club website.

Blenheim Palace Triathlon
Paul Treadwell, in his Debut Triathlon & 1 week after his participation in the London/Essex 100M Bike Sportive, was among the 1,278 finishers. Paul completed the event in position 831 in a total time of 1:53:18. His stats were:

Grafman Middle Distance Triathlon
2 BRJ’ers were among the 216 finishers who were racing in good conditions for all 3 disciplines. Stuart Hathaway finished in 70th position in a total time of 5:26:38 & Jon Daulton in 161st in 6:17:03. Their individual stats were:
