Parkrun Junior 2K
4 Junior BRJ’ers were in action at Jubilee Park. George Jenner took 3rd place with Keira Coverdale securing a new Club 2K PB (#3 of 2024) by a 4 Sec margin compared to her run at this venue the previous week.

Parkrun 5K
BRJ’ers returned to Aylesbury, Coldhams Common, Fulbourn Hospital (Course PB for David Spurle), Harrogate, Irchester Country, Keswick, Market Harborough, Mildenhall Hub (3rd place & Course PB for Simon Mayes), Monsal Trail, Pocket, Preston Park Brighton, Rutland Water (Course PB for Paul Mitton), Storeys Field, Teignmouth Promenade (New Club PB for Katie Chandler by 25 Secs) & Zuiderpark (The Hague, Netherlands).

At Huntingdon, William Dales took 1st place.

Blisworth 5M
on the 17th May, Adam D’Souza participated in the Blisworth 5M which was Race 2 of 8 in the 2024 East Midlands Grand Prix Series. These events are always well supported with 323 finishers in Race 2. Adam, in his Club Debut 5M, finished in 180th position in a time of 00:36:57.

Leaden Boot Marathon
After his Club Marathon debut in April’s London Marathon, Ian Percy headed to a very warm Peak District for his next venture over the classic distance. The hilly elliptical route course included an overall ascent of 5,800 feet. Of the 362 finishers, Ian completed the distance n 34th position in a time of 6:42:09. Over 70 individuals retired during the race. An Age / Gender Graded score of 35.67% counts towards the Senior Running Championships.

Windermere Marathon
On the 18th May, Douglas Rowan became the newest member of the BRJ Marathon Club with a run at a very warm Windermere. The course was a clockwise circuit of Windermere visiting places such as Hawkshead, Newby Bridge, Bowness & Ambleside. The hilly course had an overall ascent of 595 Metres. Of the 721 finishers, Douglas completed the course in position 198 in 4:15:39. Given the undulating terrain & weather conditions, his race pacing was spot-on as his time over the 2nd 1/2 of the marathon was just 27 Secs slower that the 1st. half. An Age / Gender Graded Score of 48.33% counts towards the Senior Running Championships.

Box End (Bedford) Triathlon
Heledd Marshall-Roberts was the sole BRJ’er in the Sprint Distance event. Of the 54 finishers, Heledd completed the course in position 30 in a total time of 1:56:41 & took 3rd place in her Age Category. Her individual stats were:

Stradbroke Tri
Fresh from his fine Debut 10K run at Eye 10K the previous weekend, Henry Reeve headed to a sunny Suffolk. There were 77 finishers, with Henry completing the course in 30th position in a total time of 1:00:49 & taking Gold Medal in his Age Category. His individual stats were:
