Easter Challenge 10K (Suffolk Running Centre)
A late result from 29th March. Persistent injuries over recent months forced Paul Treadwell to instigate a delayed & significantly compressed training campaign ahead of April’s London Marathon. Paul’s intention was to complete 3 x 10K laps but with the very poor conditions underfoot he opted to play safe & complete just 1 lap. Paul finished in 11th position in a time of 1:05:15.

Sutton 10K
Philip Graham-Clare was among the 341 finishers. Philip completed the course in position 215 in a time of 00:52:48. Philip’s Club 10K PB was set at this venue back in 2018 (00:47:37).

London Landmarks 1/2 Marathon
Karen Gilchrist was the sole BRJ’er participant in this Central London based course that passed many of the Capital’s landmarks. Of the 18,841 finishers, Karen navigated the course in position 8,241 in 2:10:48.

Rutland Water Spring 1/2 Marathon
In sunny & driving windy conditions over a very undulating course, Adam D’Souza & Mica Covell were among the 601 finishers. Mica secured a silver podium Age Category position. Their results were:
NAME               TIME         POSITION   INFO
Adam D’Souza.  1:45:41     75
Mica Covell         1:51:53.   112                2nd F25-29
Brighton Marathon
5 BRJ’ers tackled the Brighton course. The conditions were very sunny but in line with the majority of the UK on that day there was strong gusting winds. The challenging conditions were reflected in the winners finish time which was 2 Hrs 32 Mins in 2024 as opposed to 2:24 in 2023. Unlikely to be a day for PB’s.
Alex Mitton, led home the BRJ Squad with a finish time that represented a 15 Min 53 Sec PB based on the time he set at London in 2022. Alex was closely followed home by Coach Paul Mitton. Jack Farrimond & Gemma Myers, both successfully made their Club Debut Marathons. There were 11,273 finishers.
Sadly, in what would have also been a Debut Club Marathon, Lydia Murgatroyd had to withdraw at 1/2 way due to injury. We hope she recovers quickly.
