Parkrun Junior 2K
BRJ’ers were in action at 2 venues this week. At Jubilee Park, Iris Purser was lead Parkrunner just 10 places ahead of Alexander Eason.

Making both their BRJ 2K Debuts and a Venue Debut at Cottenham Recreation Ground were new members Sophie & Stanley Coe.

Parkrun 5K
Significant amounts of rain over the previous days generated by Storm Babet stopped play at a number of Parkruns, including Pocket. Surviving the downpours BRJ’ers returned to Aldenham, Bedford, Cranleigh, Hampstead Heath, Oak Hill, Queens (Belfast), Storey’s Field & University of Northampton. At Zuiderpark (The Netherlands), Gareth Thomas made most of the flat course to secure a new Club 5K PB by a 47 Sec margin & representing PB #2 of 2023.

2 BRJ’ers made Venue Debuts which were at Clarence by Kelsey Crickmore & Quakers Walk by Mark Jackman.

At Huntingdon, flooding in a few parts of the Country Park meant that the Race Director had to act quickly to roll-out the “alternative” 3 lap course. Mike Gullis completed Parkrun #75 but he was significantly upstaged by Jez Bottley who completed #150!

Duxford Dash 10K
As a result of withdrawal of Matthew Pendlebury due to an injury, 5 BRJ’ers completed this course based around this historic airfield & now a War Museum. Felicity Baillie led home the squad finishing as 2nd Female & top in her age group just shy of her existing Club PB.

2 BRJ’ers secured new Club 10K PB’s These were Bryn Jones by a 1 Min 27 Sec margin (PB #5 of 2023) & Richard Braddick, returning back to form after some niggling injuries, by 1 Min 30 Secs (#3). Darren Butler & Mica Covell both made Club 10K Debuts.
