Parkrun Junior 2K
Jubilee Park – Iris Purser (Runner-Up) & Alexander Eason were the sole BRJ participants.

Parkrun 5K
There were BRJ returns to Armley (1st place for Keelan Duffy), Conwy, Daventry, Fulbourn Hospital (Course PB for Chloe Wilson), Holkham, Monsal Trail, Pocket (Parkrun #75 for Nick Harris), Sandringham & Wisbech. As a warm-up for the Berlin Marathon the next day, Marco Wassersleben made a return to the Kuchenholz Parkrun.

Gareth Thomas made a Club Debut at the Stavanger (Norway) Parkrun.

At Huntingdon, a BRJ takeover, Darren Butler secured a new Club 5K PB by a 10 Sec margin (PB #2 of 2023) & Simon Moore secured a Course PB.

Junior, Hannah Lasseter, made a Club 5K Debut & promoted herself to become current Runner-Up Girl in the 2023 Most Running PB’s competition.

Crag Rat Race 5M
Phil Pearsons travelled to Knaresborough to compete in this 5 Mile mixed terrain event that
runs alongside the River Nidd. Of the 215 finishers, Phil completed te race in position 185 in a time of 00:52:31.

Cambourne 10K
This 10k was in place of the event that should have taken place back in April but significant wet weather rendered the course unuseable. 4 BRJ’ers were among the 249 finishers. Bo Mead made her Club Debut 10K. The full set of results are:

Grantchester 10K
Club members Richard Braddick & Andy Ellams were among the 200 athletes that completed this picturesque course & well organised event. Richard finished in 80th position in a time of 00:53:05 & Andy Ellams in position 187 in 1:11:04.

Sandringham 10K
Michelle Caspersz was among the 1,335 finishers in position 1,007 in a time of 1:07:37.

Vitality London 10K
Having congregated in Green Park the event started, in Waves, on The Mall with the coursing passed iconic landmarks such as Big Ben, Houses of Parliament & St Paul’s Cathedral.

Robin Hood 1/2 Marathon
2 BRJ’ers were amongst the 5,429 finishers in this Nottingham based event. Dan Ainscow completed the course in position 3,754 in 2:19:25 & Jane Ainscow in position 5,180 in 2:54:29.

Berlin Marathon
With the enforced withdrawal of Nicki McMahon due to injury, 4 BRJ’ers completed this Berlin Marathon. The course again produced records times, this time in the Women’s race a World Record by a 2 minute margin & Eliud Kipchoge winning the Men’s race for a 5th time, but outside of his course best time. In addition, 2 BRJ’ers (Jim Greenley & Helen Richardson) joined the BRJ Marathon Club”.

Jim Greenley, was the lead Male BRJ’er ahead of Marco Wassersleben, who has run this event on many occasions. Club Captain Felicity Baillie was our lead lady. The event results, broken down by the separate Men’s & Women’s competitions & including the Age / Gender Scores counting towards the BRJ Senior Running Champs, are:
