Parkrun Junior 2K
At Jubilee Park, Katie Lasseter secured another 1st place overall whilst Iris Purser in 5th place, secured PB #4 of 2023 by a 5 Sec margin. New member, Hannah Lasseter made her Club 2K Debut.

Parkrun 5K
There were BRJ returns to Barclay (Parkrun #175 for Kerry Surkitt), Cannon Hill, Ferry Meadows, Holkham (Course PB for Claire Few), Lanhydrock, Mildenhall Hub, Millenium Country, Milton Country (Course PB’s for Donna & Neil Whitaker), Pegwell Bay, Rendlesham Forest, Sloughbottom, Storey’s Field, Westpark (Munich, Germany), Whittlesey & Woodhouse Moor.

Mark Jackman clocked up yet another BRJ Venue Debut, this time at Abbey Park.

At Huntingdon, there were 3 new Club 5K PB’s for Rachael Dent (by 1 Min 24 Secs), Jack Hutchinson (by 1 Min 43 Secs) & Ian Percy (by 47 Secs). New member Joanna Landeryou made her Club 5K Debut.

Fen Drayton 10K
Just 4 BRJ’ers ran this local event alongside 158 other participants. Pick of the bunch was Men’s Club Captain & Coach, Paul Mitton, with a top 10 finish & along with Simon Moore & Megan Wilson, secured an Age Category Podium place. The full suite of results are:

Grand East Anglia 10K (Kings Lynn)
New member Ellen Kerbey made her Club 10K Debut completing this flat & fast course in a time of 00:49:03 in position 472 of the1,822 finishers.

London Marathon (RESULTS UPDATE)
Information recently provided confirms that a 12th BRJ member successfully completed the London Marathon & has joined the BRJ “Marathon Club”.

For reasons unknown, the club name was not linked to the official result for Pippa Burns. Pippa, who is better known for her performances in Triathlon, made her Club Marathon Debut finishing in position 29,776 in a time of 4:39:12. A score of 59.12% counts towards the Senior Running Championships.

Milton Keynes Marathon
Good weather conditions were experienced by the 1,389 finishers. On the start list, BRJ were represented by Annette & David Newton as it formed part of their training campaign ahead of November’s New York Marathon but sadly, David had to withdraw before race start.

Annette had a spectacular run, finishing in position 520 in a time of 4:00:22, which was just 9 Mins shy of her current Club Marathon PB set at Edinburgh way back in 2014. Annette was 1st in her Age Category some 53 Mins ahead of the 2nd FV70+ lady. Annette’s time was also over 8 Mins ahead of the lead MV70+ Man. An Age Graded score of 86.86% counts towards the 2023 Senior Running Champs.

 

MULTI-SPORTS

Go Tri Junior Duathlon
Dixie Swales competed in a “Taster” Duathlon at Milton Country Park. No results are recorded for these type of events, but Dixie was the 1st Girl finisher. Dixie is looking forward to the Junior Triathlon event.
