Parkrun Junior 2K
2 BRJ’ers, Iris Purser & Alexander Eason were in action at Jubilee Park with Iris taking the runners-up position in a time of 00:09:11 representing a 10 Sec Club PB, #2 of 2023.

Parkrun 5K
BRJ’ers returned to Aviemore, Aylesbury, Doddington Hall, Eastbourne, Ferry Meadows (Parkrun #125 for Dianne Shutt), Holkham, Pocket, Portobello (Edinburgh), Rutland Water, Shipley Country & Yarborough Leisure Centre.

At Storey’s Field, there were 2 new Club 5K PB’s for Jim Greenley (by 24 Secs) & Helen Richardson (by 34 Secs). Our unluckiest athlete was Ian Percy who missed a new Club 5K PB by just 2 Secs.

There were 2 Club Parkrun Debuts this weekend at Edgbaston Reservoir for Peter Curran & Alice Edwards at Stockley Country.

At Huntingdon, both Claire Few & David Newton completed Parkrun #200.

Boston (UK) 10K
Phil Pearson declined the opportunity to compete in the full marathon opting instead for the 10K. Phil finished in position 134 / 202 in a time of 1:05:32.

Manchester Marathon
4 BRJ’ers tackled this event in great weather conditions for long distance running. Neil Whitaker led home the squad in a time that represented a 2 Min 36 Sec improvement over his previous Club Marathon best set at Berlin back in 2019. Felicity Baillie, who achieved a significant new PB Brighton Marathon just 2 weeks ago, was our leading lady ahead of Louis Clinton & then Chloe Barker-Rudd who made her Club Marathon Debut at this event in 2022.

The full set of Club results, including the Age Graded scores counting towards the 2023 Senior Running Champs, are:-

For his Debut Club Marathon, Sebastian Burley ventured to Rotterdam over this notoriously flat & fast course, although there was a headwind in places from Mile 19.
