Folksworth 15M
After an enforced 2 year break, the Folksworth 15 Miler, the first “Nominated” event in the 2023 Senior Running Championships, returned to its usual 2 lap undulating course. The overnight temperatures fell to -6 but the 11AM start time enabled many roads to be virtually ice free, this was especially welcomed on the hilly sections of the course. A slight wind was in evidence when running along the ridge line.
Jonathan Harding, in his Debut Club 15M, led home the squad securing Runner-Up in his Age Category, just 10 Secs short of taking 1st place.
Felicity Baillie, also in her Debut Club 15M, led home our Women, her finish time placing her as the 2nd Fastest BRJ Woman over the distance, some 9 Mins 24 Secs shy of time set at Folksworth in 2019 by former member Shelley Duffy.
Despite challenging conditions, several BRJ’ers secured individual success notably 2 BRJ’ers securing new Club 15M PB’s, which were Paul Mitton by a massive 6 Mins 10 Secs since the 2017 race & Amanda Roland-Convey by 2 Mins 26 Secs also from 2017.
In addition, 3 members secured 1st place in their Age Category & 5 members made their Club 15M Debuts.
