Marathon Results Updates
Our Marathon running fanatic, Kerry Surkitt, added another 2 different Full Marathon events to her huge tally over the weekend.
1. Enigma MK Fireworks Marathon – Kerry’s first Marathon took place at Milton Keynes which was 7.5 laps of Caldecotte Lakes. Kerry finished in position 13 of the 36 finishers in a time of 4:24:18. An Age Graded score of 57.53% counts towards the Senior Running Champs.
2. Fireworks Running Festival Track Marathon – Her second event of the weekend took place in Ware & comprised 105.5 laps of the Running Track. Having run a Full Marathon the previous day & also supporting a friend making their Debut Marathon, her race pace was more relaxed finishing in position 19 of the 22 finishers in a time of 5:59:27. An Age Graded score of 42.30% achieved. Kerry decided to rest on Sunday thus gave the Frostbite a miss!
Frostbite Friendly League Race 2 (of 6)
Race 2, hosted by Bushfield Joggers, was held at Peterborough’s Ferry Meadows over slightly adjusted routes to cater for some construction works currently in progress. Both the 1.5m & 5M courses were not as muddy as would have been expected given the heavy rain in the preceding days, Despite the rain showers early Sunday morning they had cleared away well before the Junior start so both events were run in good conditions.
For Race 2, there were 147 Junior & 427 Senior finishers which was slightly higher attendance than at Race 1. Full results can be found on the Frostbite Friendly League website. Just a reminder PB’s secured at Frostbites do NOT count towards the annual ”Most Road Running PB’s” competition.
For your diaries, Race 3 hosted by Riverside Runners, takes place at Priory Park, St Neots on 11 December 2022. It would be great if we could get a much larger BRJ attendance by both squads..
