RUNNING

Junior Parkrun 2K
13 very brave soles tackled the wet & inclement conditions. Both BRJ participants finished in the top 10, Katie Lasseter as runner-up & Alexander Eason in 8th position.

Parkrun 5K
BRJ’ers returned to Blicking, Cairns (Australia), Irchester Country, Markshall Estate, Rutland Water, Sheringham, Storeys Field, Whittlesey & Woodhouse Moor. At Bedford, Nick Harris earned a 1 Min 9 Sec Club 5K PB, #3 of 2022.

There were BRJ debuts at Bevendean Down by Alex Mitton & Shanganagh (Ireland) by Stephen Rochford.

At Huntingdon, Susano Gago-Cortes secured a new Club 5K PB by a margin of 2 Mins 31 Secs, her 3rd Club PB of 2022.

Leeds Dash 10K
Keelan Duffy was among a field of 3,751 finishers. A great run for Keelan saw him achieve his first Sub-35 Min finish. Despite the quick finish time of 00:34:57, his 226th position demonstrates the quality of the field. His time represents a new Club 10K PB (#6 of 2022) by a margin of 38 Secs compared with his previous PB set a Peterborough in June 2021. Keelan also moves up 1 place to become 9th fastest BRJ Man over the distance.

MULTI-SPORT

Bison Duathlon (Sprint or Standard Distance)
An exceedingly wet Dunstable Downs was the venue for the Bison & Baby Bison Duathlon events. The format for each event was a Trail Run of 6.5 or 13K, followed by 22 or 44K bike & a then second run of 6.5K. Sadly, the inclement weather not only made the majority avoid the event altogether and those that did attend were informed that the bike phase had to be cancelled on safety grounds meaning only the 1st run went ahead. The results for the 2 hardy BRJ participants were:-

Baby Bison Trail Run (6.5K) – Felicity Baillie was Runner-Up (1st Lady) of the 12 finishers in a time of 00:33:44.

Bison Trail Run (13.5K) – Stuart Hathaway was 4th (2nd in Age Category) of the 26 finishers in a time of 1:08:16.
