Parkrun Junior 2K – At a sunny Jubilee Park, Katie Lasseter secured the runner-up spot in a time just shy of her current Club 2K PB.
Parkrun 5K – There were BRJ returns to Cannock Chase, Pocket, Sheringham & Wollaton Hall & no PB’s were secured at these venues. Keelan Duffy & William Dales made a BRJ debut at Holyrood (Scotland). Dan & Jane Ainscow at Peel (Manchester & not the Isle of Man).
At Huntingdon, both Alex Mitton & Felicity Baillie were first home for their respective Genders. Both Alex & Joseph Harding secured another Club 5K PB by margins of 1 Sec & 14 Secs respectively. Felicity Baillie also achieved a Course PB & Junior Callum Watts made his Club 5K debut.
Peterborough Grand Prix Series 5K Race 3 (UPDATE)
Happily the technical issue that meant that individuals from position 213 onwards did not initially receive official finish times have been resolved. The stats for the 3 BRJ’ers affected are:-
Peterborough Grand Prix Series Race 4
Race 4 of the series was hosted by Werrington Joggers at their local Sports Centre.The cooler weather conditions were more conductive to Road Running & several new Club 5K PB’s were achieved. The final 3K & 5K events in the 2022 Grand Prix is being hosted by Bushfield Joggers on 17 August 2022 at Ferry Meadows, Peterborough. Online entry for Race 5, via the Peterborough GP Series website, will remain OPEN until 22:00 hours on 16 August. On the day entries WILL also be available.
3K – From the 34 finishers, Race 4 saw the first participation in the 2022 3K Series of BRJ Juniors. Braiden Hinson was the first BRJ’ers home just 2 positions ahead of Tom Sheldon. Braiden secured PB #3 of 2022 by a 23 Sec margin, making him joint runner-up alongside Sam Hathaway & Ethan Ward, in the “2022 Most Running PB’s” Competition.Their stats were:-
5K – Happily the gremlins did not affect the timing equipment as was the case in Race 3. Keelan Duffy again led home the BRJ squad finishing just outside the top 10. Alex & Paul Mitton are currently very much in form & fittingly both secured new Club 5K PB’s, Alex by 25 Secs (PB#5 of 2022), his debut sub 19 Min run & Paul by 20 Secs (PB#7). Juliet Aungier, in training for the upcoming London Marathon, achieved a 28 Sec Club PB compared to the 5K time set at the Huntingdon Parkrun in November 2019. 3 BRJ’ers secured Age Category podium places. Senior Running Championships (UPDATE)
We are now just over 1/2 way through 2022 thus time to update the membership on the current status of the Senior Running Championships. For those unfamiliar with the rules of this competition, participants must complete a minimum of 4 events of their choice from a prescribed list of “Nominated” events, from which their best 3 Age Graded Scores will be counted. The list of events and competition rules can be found on the BRJ Website, under the Heading of Club Honours / Senior Running Championships. As at the end of July, the lead scorers are:-
