Parkrun 5K
There were BRJ returns to Parkruns at Bury Field, Coldhams Common & Irchester County (Course PB’s for Chloe & Ian Wilson).
New Club 5K PB’s were secured at Kettering for Junior Katie Lasseter with a 1 Min 27 Sec PB & Ian Lasseter completed Parkrun #200. Neil Whitaker, steadily improving his performances after recent injury, secured a 56 Sec Club PB at Storeys Field when compared with his run at the Huntingdon Parkrun event back in October 2019.

BRJ’ers made Club Debuts at Camperdown, Dundee (Michelle Caspersz & Alice Edwards), Milan North (Anna & Clive Best) & Oranmore, Galway (Kevin Ryan).

Huntingdon saw the welcome return to the BRJ of Fiona Greig & Tim Legge missed a new Club PB by 2 Secs.

Northstowe Running Festival
A small group of BRJ’ers took part in the inaugural Northstowe Running Festival in the 5K & 1/2 Marathon distances.

5K – Felicity Bailiie completed the race in position 9 of the 83 finishers in a time of 00:19:48, just 30 Secs shy of her Club PB. Felicity was Second Lady & 1st in the Female 20-34 Age Category.

1/2 Marathon – 3 BRJ’ers were amongst the 184 finishers.Their individual stats were:-

Dorney Lake Marathon
Neil Pope was 35th of the 145 finishers in a time of 3:09:08, just outside his Club Marathon PB set at Manchester back in April 2019. Neil’s Age Grading score was 68.95%.

Shakespeare Marathon – 2 BRJ’ers successfully completed this Stratford-upon-Avon based Marathon. The course was tough with hills on the 2nd lap & a long straight stretch along the route of a disused railway line.

Lead BRJ’er was Paul Mitton who, despite recent injuries that hampered his training campaign, completed the event in position 48 of the 377 finishers in a time of 3:23:37 (Age Grading Score of 66.80%). This time represented a 3 Min 57 Sec Club PB compared to his time set at Chester in October 2018. This was his 3rd Running PB of 2022.

A rare appearance in a BRJ vest by Mark Elliott saw him finish in position 65 in 3:31:25 (60.21% Age Grading).
