Congratulations to all those who completed Week One of the Lockdown(again) Relay. Twelve teams joined this 5K challenge, completing a collective 360K , about 8.5 marathons. Well done everyone. Racing, pacing, injured or recovering everyone seemed to enjoy the extra challenge of turning out for their team and feeling part of the club. During a time when we are restricted by Covid it is important to feel free sometimes, and running outdoors gives a sense of freedom. At a time of isolation it is crucial that this does not turn into a sense of loneliness. Being part of a team and a club can help sustain a sense of wellbeing which will get us through these strange times.
So well done everyone, you got out , you ran, you competed, and completed the team effort. This makes everyone a winner.

The team with the fastest time is Twisted Blisters with an average time of 18 minutes 27 seconds. The fastest woman was Shelley Duffy 19 minutes 54 seconds ( Age Grade 78.16%*). The fastest young man was James Orrell with a perfectly timed 17 minutes (Age grading 79.46%) . James’ team The Outsiders captained by William Dales came second, average time 19minutes 2 seconds. The Hemchester Harriers came third ( 23 minutes 33 seconds).
