Members of Huntindon running club BRJ Run and Tri were looking forward to running the London Marathon in the spring sunshine. However this world famous race around London planned for April, postponed until October and then restricted to elite runners around St James Park. Those fortunate to have an entry to the race were given the chance to take part in the Virtual London Marathon. Seventeen BRJ members took up the challenge of running the required 26.2 miles over a route of their choice.

As well as those chasing faster times or just completing the distance others were raising much needed money for charity . Sue Ray raised almost £1,300 for the Throat Cancer Foundation a cause close to her heart since her sister was diagnosed with the disease. Mel Gearing has been championing the club’s nominated charity BEAT the country’s leading eating disorder charity. Through club activities we have raised raised £1890 and Mel personally has raised £4103 so thats £5993 altogether. Well done Mel.
