{"id":5557,"date":"2024-06-29T20:33:12","date_gmt":"2024-06-29T19:33:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brjrunandtri.org\/wp\/?p=5557"},"modified":"2024-06-29T20:38:42","modified_gmt":"2024-06-29T19:38:42","slug":"latest-results-23-06-28-mike-gullis-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brjrunandtri.org\/wp\/?p=5557","title":{"rendered":"Latest Results 24\/06\/28 &#8211; Mike Gullis"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>RUNNING<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Parkrun Junior 2K<\/strong><br \/>\nJunior BRJ&#8217;ers were in attendance at Cambourne &amp; Jubilee Park.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cambourne<\/strong> &#8211; Finley Harrison finished in a time of 00:09:21 representing a new Club 2K PB by 13 Secs compared to his previous best finish at the same venue on 19 May (PB #2 of 2024)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jubilee Park<\/strong> &#8211; This event was themed as a celebration of the forthcoming Olympics. In gold medal position, George Jenner secured a Course PB along with Amelie Alexander-Cahill.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parkrun 5K<\/strong><br \/>\nBRJ&#8217;ers returned to Bug Hunters Waters (aka Northstowe), Littleport, Monsal Trail (Parkrun #150 for David Thomas), Pocket, Preston Park Brighton, Sheringham (Course PB for Claire Ashton), Thorp Perrow, Whittlesey (Course PB for Nick Harris) &amp; Wyre Forest.<\/p>\n<p>There were 4 BRJ Venue Debuts at Blackpool (by Juniors Sophie &amp; Stanley Coe), South Shields (Claire Few, Kate Ruddock &amp; Sue Yendley), Tetbury Goods Shed (Kathy Unwin) &amp; Y Promenade (Wales) by Melanie Gearing.<\/p>\n<p>Huntingdon celebrated reaching event #&#8217;500 &amp; which saw 393 finish compared with 221 at event #1 on 13 April 2013. The first placed Male &amp; Female in event #1 were Paul Martelletti in 00:16:44 &amp; Katie Good in 00:18:37. The top BRJ finishers were Daniel Grant (00:22:39) &amp; Claire Schmidt (00:23:09).<\/p>\n<p>Event #1 saw a total of 58 BRJ&#8217;ers complete the course &amp; from that number, there are 5 current club members, namely Tom Brand, Mike Gullis, Paul Mitton, Phil Pearsons &amp; Maureen Wickson, that also participated in #500..<\/p>\n<p>Event #500 did not disappoint as it delivered new Club 5K PB&#8217;s for:<\/p>\n<p>i). Mica Covell by 40 Secs (PB #4 of 2024) &amp; now 5th fastest BRJ Senior<br \/>\nWoman over the distance.<br \/>\nii). Junior Ethan Ward by a massive 8 Mins 4 Secs (PB #4).<br \/>\niii). Emily Miller by 30 Secs (PB #6).<br \/>\niv). Junior Hannah Lasseter by 2 Mins 50 Secs (PB #2).<\/p>\n<p>Course PB&#8217;s were achieved by Robin Cooper &amp; Junior Jack Hutchinson &amp; finally David Spurle completed Parkrun #200.<\/p>\n<p>Our unluckiest member was Junior Katie Lasseter who missed out on a new Club PB by 2 just Secs.<\/p>\n<h3>Villa De Alorfa 5K (Spain)<\/h3>\n<p>Len Kirkby, participated in this village based night race. Of the 264 finishers, Len finished in position 258 in a time of 00:40.33.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5558\" src=\"https:\/\/brjrunandtri.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Len-Kirkby-5k-225x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brjrunandtri.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Len-Kirkby-5k-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/brjrunandtri.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Len-Kirkby-5k-768x1024.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/brjrunandtri.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Len-Kirkby-5k-1152x1536.jpeg 1152w, https:\/\/brjrunandtri.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Len-Kirkby-5k.jpeg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ferry Meadows 5M<\/strong><br \/>\nAdam D&#8217;Souza finished in position 9 \/ 43 in a time of 00:41:40.<\/p>\n<h3>Bassingbourn Belle 10K<\/h3>\n<p>In hot conditions, 6 BRJ&#8217;ers were among the 252 finishers. The scenic course travelled through the South Cambridgeshire villages of Bassingbourn &amp; Littlington. In 6th position, Simon Mayes again led home the BRJ squad &amp; securing the Gold Medal in his Age Category. From this squad, 2 members secured new Club 10K PB&#8217;s, namely Robin Cooper by 44 Secs (PB #11 of 2024) &amp; Alexandra Smart by 1 Min 30 Secs. Richard finished in a time of 00:51:04 in 44th position &amp; Darren, in his Debut Club 10K, in 62nd in 00:54:23.<\/p>\n<h3>MULTI-SPORTS<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Dambusters Triathlon (Rutland Water)<\/strong><br \/>\nAt a hot &amp; sunny Rutland Water, 6 BRJ&#8217;ers competed in 2 of the distance options available:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sprint<\/strong> &#8211; Andrew Place &amp; Paul Treadwell were among the 180 finishers. Andrew finished in 66th position in a total time of 1:34:25 with Paul in 122nd in 1:46:27. Although Paul was disappointed with his Swim phase, his finish time represents a 6 Min 51 Secs PB compared to his Debut Sprint Tri at Blenheim Palace back in May.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Standard<\/strong> &#8211; The 513 finishers included 4 were BRJ Members.
