Running<\/h3>\n

Parkrun Junior 2K<\/strong>
\n2 Junior BRJ’ers were in action at 2 different venues. These were:<\/p>\n

Cambourne – Finley Harrison finished in 5th position just shy of his existing Club PB.
\nWimpole – Amelie Alexander-Cahill secured a new Club 2K PB by a 41 Sec margin compared to her run the previous week at Jubilee Park. This was PB #3 of 2024.<\/p>\n

March
\nParkrun 5K<\/strong>
\nBRJ’ers returned to Aberystwyth, Lowestoft,Oak Hill, Pavilion Gardens, Stratford-Upon-Avon & Wimpole. At March, Junior Isaac Friswell secured a 42 Sec Club PB (#4 of 2024) compared to his run over the same course on 30 March.<\/p>\n

Although its start date was not widely advertised, a total of 10 BRJ’ers participated in the inaugural Big Hunter Waters Parkrun which is based in nearby Northstowe. Of the 102 finishers, Simon Mayes took 3rd position & Paul Mitton 5th.<\/p>\n

Amazingly, Huntingdon Parkrun celebrates event #500 on the 22 June.<\/strong> In recognition that it was a former BRJ member’s (Suzie Hall) idea of of delivering this event it would be great to see a big BRJ turnout. Additionally, the Run Director asks that you wear something “Blue” . All will be explained in the pre-run briefing. For information, the “Winner” of the 1st Huntingdon Parkrun on 13 April 2013 was Paul Martelletti in a time of 00:16:44 & his most recent Parkrun 5K PB is now 00:14:32.<\/p>\n

For event #499, Keelan Duffy took the runner-up position, Douglas Rowan secured a Course PB, whilst 2 BRJ’ers secured new Club 5K PB’s. These were:
\nPaul Beeson – By 36 Secs (PB #3 of 2024)
\nEszter Gulacsy – By 17 Secs (PB #7)<\/p>\n

Peterborough Grand Prix Series 3K & 5K 2024 (Race 1)<\/strong>
\nRace 1 of the 5 race series was hosted by Eye Community Runners & as with all previous Grand Prix’s there was a good turnout.<\/p>\n

3K<\/strong> – 7 BRJ’ers were among the 55 finishers. The squad was led home by Iris Purser in 11th position in a time which represented a new Club 3K PB by a 6 Sec margin. Next home, was Ethan Ward in what was his Debut Club 3K, finishing 1 place & 2 Secs behind Iris. Dixie Swales secured a new Club PB by 58 Secs.<\/p>\n

Sandringham 1\/2 Marathon<\/strong>
\nA total of 959 finishers overcame the tough, but scenic course, which was made much more challenging with the windy, rainy & muddy conditions. Our sole participant was the in-form Robin Cooper.
