BRJ&#8217;ers returned to Barry Island, Bedford, Brighton &amp; Hove, East Coast Park (Singapore), Ferry Meadows, Henlow Bridge Lakes, Irchester Country, March, Market Bosworth, Market Harborough, Milan North (runner-up position for William Dales in Italy), Rutland Water (Course PB for Gerry Pye), Soham Village College, University of Northampton, Woodhouse Moor (parkrun #350 for Keelan Duffy)<\/p>\n<p>At Storeys Field there was a new Club 5K PB by 20 Secs for Ian Lasseter, a course PB for Gareth Thomas &amp; Parkrun #300 for Mark Jackman..<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cambridge 1\/2 Marathon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thankfully the weather gods were very kind to the 13,005 finishers, but pre-race they still had to endure a cold wait until their wave starts &amp; before that very soggy conditions underfoot in the assembly area. However, it was a very successful day for the 29 BRJ&#8217;ers which saw 6 members making Club 1\/2 Marathon Debuts &amp; 5 others achieving new Club 1\/2 Marathon PB&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<div><strong>These PB&#8217;ers were:-<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>Simon Pascoe by 5 Mins 9 Secs compared to December 23&#8217;s Winter MK<\/div>\n<div>Jim Greenley by 4 Mins 21 Secs compared to April 23&#8217;s London Landmarks (PB #2 of 2024)<\/div>\n<div>Adam D&#8217;Souza by 2 Mins 46 Secs compared to February 24&#8217;s Blicking 1\/2 (PB #5)<\/div>\n<div>Ian Percy by 2 Mins 45 Secs compared to November 23&#8217;s St Neots (PB #3)<\/div>\n<div>Aaron Ball by 4 Secs since October 23&#8217;s GER (PB #2 of 2024)<\/div>\n<p>Sadly, not all of\u00a0 our members completing the race were shown in the official results as being BRJ members. The event starts just north of Lulworth Cove heading west until reaching Upton. The course heads south towards the coast then heads east towards Lulworth Cove via Durdle Door. On a couple of occasions Ian nearly lost his running shoes. The finish time of the overall winner in 2024 was 1:48 compared to 1:35 in 2023 which shows how the &#8220;elite&#8221; end of the race suffered..<\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, a number of the starters failed to complete the course with just 300 finishing. Ian &#8216;s time was 2:18:50, some 3 Mins slower than in 2023 &amp; in position 41. Ruth was using the event as her Club Debut over the distance finishing in 3:26:59 in position 221.
