RUNNING<\/h3>\n

Parkrun Junior 2K<\/strong>
\nWith the cancellation of the Jubilee Park event, 2 BRJ’ers attended the Cambourne event. This particularly suited George Jenner as he secured a Club 5K PB by a 13 Sec margin his second of 2023.<\/p>\n

Parkrun 5K<\/strong>
\nBRJ’ers returned to Bedford, Bevendean Down (2nd place & a Course PB for Alex Mitton), Colney Lane, Damhusegen (Copenhagen, Denmark), Ferry Meadows (Course PB for Kelsey Crickmore), Market Bosworth, Milton Country, Morecambe Bay, Pocket, Shipley Country, Storeys Field, Thornham Woods & Wisbech.<\/p>\n

Alice Noyes made the only Club Venue Debut which was Karpendonske in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.<\/p>\n

At Huntingdon, Nicola Sparkes secured a Course PB & Anna Best reached Parkrun #200.<\/p>\n

Cambridge Town & Gown 3K & 10K<\/strong>
\nBRJ’ers participated in both the 3K & 10K races.<\/p>\n

3K – Junior<\/strong> Jack Scott, making his Club 3K Debut, finished in 14th position of the 75 finishers in a time of 00:12:51\u00a0 As well as finishing 2nd in his Age Category, Jack used the event to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy charity.<\/p>\n

10K – 6 Senior<\/strong> BRJ’ers were among the 2,206 finishers & all making the finish without incident, including Clive Best. Simon Pascoe led home the BRJ squad in his Club 10K Debut. Kevin Ryan & Nina Gays both secured Club 10K PB’s (by 2 Mins 14 Secs & 4 Mins 41 Secs respectively) with Anna Best taking Bronze Medal position in her Age Category. Sandringham 10K [UPDATE]<\/strong>
\nA further update from the event held on 24th September also saw Bryn Jones make his Club 10K Debut finishing in position 188 in a time of 00:48:28.<\/p>\n

Oxford 1\/2 Marathon<\/strong>
\nJacqui Moore & Megan Wilson were among the 9,147 finishers. Jacqui finished in position 8,128 in 2:25:52 & Megan Wilson, in her Debut Club 1\/2 Marathon in position 5,269 in 2:01:06.<\/p>\n

Peterborough Great Eastern Run 5K & 1\/2 Marathon<\/strong>
\nA slightly revised course, incorporating the grounds of Peterborough Cathedral was new in 2023. Also, for 2023, the 12 Marathon featured as the “Nominated” event in the 2023 Senior Running Championships.<\/p>\n

5K –<\/strong> Elishka Bennett, in her Club Debut 10K, was the sole BRJ’er among the 788 finishers. Elishka completed the distance in position 528 in a time of 00:40:50.<\/p>\n

1\/2 Marathon<\/strong> – With the unfortunate withdrawal of 1 BRJ, a total of 10 BRJ’ers were amongst the 2.792 finishers.\u00a0 Conditions were excellent for long distance running. Coach Paul Mitton led home our Men with Rachael Dent our leading Woman. 2 of the squad secured new Club Distance PB’s, namely:-<\/p>\n

Richard Braddick – By 4 Secs compared with St Neots 2022 (PB #2 of 2023)
\nRachael Dent – By 3 Mins 18 Secs compared with Cambridge 2023 (PB #11 of 2023)<\/p>\n

Chelmsford Marathon<\/strong><\/p>\n

2 BRJ’ers Jonathan Harding & Seb Burley were among the 402 finishers. Jonathan secured a new Club Marathon PB by a 9 Sec margin compared to his run in April 2022’s Essex Marathon. He secured the Bronze Age Category medal. Seb finished just shy of his existing Club Marathon PB. The full suite of BRJ results, including the Age \/ Gender Graded scores, are<\/p>\n

Yorkshire Marathon<\/strong>
\nNeil Whitaker successfully competed this scenic but hilly Marathon in a time of 3:37:15 just short of his existing Club Marathon PB in position 1,055 of the 4,451 finishers. Neil’s Age Graded score was 59.05%.<\/p>\n

Spartan Beast (London South East) 21K Trail \/ Obstacle Race<\/strong>
\nAlthough described as London South East, the venue was actually held at Pippingford Park in East Sussex that is frequently used as a military training area. The Spartan Beast was held over a 21K hilly trail course with 30 obstacles including Chain Carrying, Climbing Frames, Rope Climbs & Swims. Matthew Pendlebury, a regular at Spartan events, competed in the Open category. Despite an ankle injury received the previous week, Matthew’s determination saw him climb, crawl, hobble to finish in position 849 \/ 936 in 5:14:14.<\/p>\n

Matthew’s son & Club Junior member, Bailey, completed the Kids event but no results are currently available,<\/p>\n

MULTI-SPORTS<\/h3>\n

Shrewsbury Junior Duathlon<\/strong>
