Parkrun 5K<\/strong> There were 3 Club Venue Debuts, namely Kelsey Crickmore at Haigh Woodland, Anna & Clive Best at Milton Waterfront (Wales) & Queenstown (New Zealand) for Karen Gilchrist.<\/p>\n Sadly, significant flooding & icy patches at Huntingdon Country Park saw its cancellation. Hopefully, it will be useable next Saturday.<\/p>\n Burghley 7M<\/strong> E Murray Todd 1\/2 Marathon<\/strong> Cambridge 1\/2 Marathon (Update)<\/strong> Frostbite Friendly League (Race 6 of 6)<\/strong> The membership extends a big vote of thanks to Claire Few, our Frostbite Co-Ordinator, for her support in managing BRJ entrants on every race day & the other behind the scenes work that this role involves. The fun all starts again in October 2023.<\/p>\n JUNIOR<\/strong> Tom Sheldon, who finished in 49th position in the 3 previous races, was consistent as he finished in 50th position this time.<\/p>\n The 5 team scorers were Henry Reeve, Tom Sheldon, Iris Purser, Emily Volp & Ethan Ward. The squad\u2019s efforts secured 7th place of the 14 teams earning 8 League points. Following the conclusion of the final race, BRJ has a total of 45 League Points attaining 8th position overall. All of the Juniors, except Henry Reeve, made their Debuts at this Venue.<\/p>\n SENIOR<\/strong> First home today in 3rd place was Keelan Duffy very closely followed in 5th by Mark Sampson. Our leading Women today was Heledd Marshall-Roberts (179th) followed by Melanie Wiffin (188th).<\/p>\n The 10 team scorers today were Seb Burley, Peter Curren, Keelan Duffy, Sam Hathaway, Stuart Hathaway, Heledd Marshall-Roberts, Alison Orrell, Lawrence Raven, Mark Sampson & Melanie Wiffin.<\/p>\n The squad replicated their position at Race 5 (Ramsey) by securing 8th place of the 16 teams & earning 9 League points. Following the conclusion of Race 6, BRJ has a total of 56 League Points finishing the Series in 8th position overall. \nThere were BRJ returns to Bedford, Brighton & Hove (3rd place for Alex Mitton), Corby, Ferry Meadows, Holkham, Houghton Hall, Market Harborough (1st place for Keelan Duffy), Millenium Country, Pocket, Storey\u2019s Field, Thetford, Whittlesey & Zuiderpark (The Hague, Holland). At the Forest of Dean, Abi Bridge secured a new Club 5K PB by a margin of 43 Secs compared to the time set at Albert Melbourne (Australia) in December 2022.<\/p>\n
\nRuth & Tony Foster returned to this event that features a tour around the historic sights of Stamford & Burghley House. Of the 1,449 finishers, Ruth completed the course in position 253 in a time of 00:55:24. Tony finishing in position 332 in 00:57:34. Both secured Club PB\u2019s when compared to their debut runs in this event back in 2022 by margins of 33 Secs for Ruth & 8 Mins 44 Secs for Tony.<\/p>\n
\nOn a visit to New Jersey (USA), Simon Moore participated in a local 1\/2 Marathon over a very hilly course. From the 471 finishers, Simon finished in 34th position in a time of 1:31:36 & was first in his Age Category.<\/p>\n
\nA late result from the 5th March for a member that had registered for the race before joining BRJ. Rachael Dent, in her Debut Club 1\/2, finished in position 7,859 in a time of 2:07:10.<\/p>\n
\nThe closing event for the 2022 \/ 2023 Season (#34) hosted by BRJ took place at Jubilee Park. Despite the recent deluges of heavy Rain & Snow the course was surprisingly only muddy in a few places. However, very strong headwinds affected the majority of both courses thus no Venue PB\u2019s were achieved by any Junior or Senior member today. A total of 110 Juniors & 363 Seniors completed the courses. The full suite of results are available on the Frostbite Friendly League website.<\/p>\n
\nThis event featured as the \u201cNominated\u201d event in the 2023 Junior Running Championships. Our squad numbered 8 Juniors (4 Boys & 4 Girls) & represented the highest turnout of the 2022 \/ 2023 Series. Our first home today was again Henry Reeve in 27th position closely followed by Ethan Ward (39th). Iris Purser (61st) was our leading Girl, followed by Emily Volp (79th).<\/p>\n
\nOur squad numbering 22 (13 Men & 9 Women), was slightly less turnout than anticipated but noting that many members were being employed as Race Marshals or Officials.<\/p>\n
