Parkrun Junior 2K<\/strong>
\nWith other BRJ Junior\u2019s on Frostbite duty, at Jubilee Park Alexander was the sole BRJ\u2019er participating in a Junior 2K.<\/p>\n

Parkrun 5K<\/strong>
\nBRJ\u2019ers returned to Cyclopark, Ferry Meadows (Course PB for Juliet Aungier), Millennium Country, North Walsham, Pocket, Preston Park, Rendlesham Forest & Salcey Forest.<\/p>\n

The Club made 3 Venue Debuts at Malahide, Ireland (Marco Wassersleben), Pakapakanthi Adelaide, Australia (Michelle Caspersz) & Polkemmet, Scotland (Stuart Turner).<\/p>\n

At Huntingdon on a slightly revised mud averting course, William Dales & Keelan Duffy took 2nd & 3rd positions respectively.<\/p>\n

Oundle New Year 10K<\/strong>
\n2 BRJ\u2019ers, Felicity Baillie & Kags Alexander-Cahill competed in this local event. From the 299 finishers, Felicity finished in 24th position as 5th Female & 2nd in Age Category in a time of 00:41:27. Kags Alexander-Cahill, in his debut Club 10K & claiming the first Running PB by a BRJ member in 2023, finished in position 156 in 00:55:53.<\/p>\n

Frostbite Friendly League (Race 4 of 6)<\/strong>
\nRace 4<\/strong> of the 6 Race 2022\/2023 series was hosted by March AC over a course that has remained virtually unchanged since 2000. On the day, there were, dry but very windy conditions much of which manifested themselves as headwinds in whichever direction you were running. With the recent rains, the course was muddy in places, but overall the going underfoot was good \u2026\u2026 if you wore trail shoes, Recognising natures challenges the possibility of achieving a Venue PB\u2019s were limited, but 3 BRJ\u2019ers were successful. A total of 101 Juniors & 363 Seniors completed the courses. Our runners welcomed the encouragement of the supporters, one of which included former BRJ Member, David Smith, who achieved a PB time of 00:35:14 \/ position 104 at this venue way back in 2003.<\/p>\n

Race 5<\/strong>, taking place on Sunday 5th February is NOT going to be held at Bourne Woods as usual but instead hosted by Ramsey Road Runners at Ramsey Abbey Leisure Centre, so hopefully this very local event will attract higher attendance than at Race 4 from across the Club membership & be less windy! JUNIOR<\/strong>
\nTo the relief of the Team Manager, just before the start of the Junior Race our squad numbered 5 Juniors (2 Boys & 3 Girls) thus meeting the minimum number to qualify for a team score.<\/p>\n

Our first home today was Henry Reeve in 16th position very closely followed by Katie Lasseter in 25th (4th Girl) & who had competed in her School\u2019s XC Champs the previous day finishing 5th. Tom Sheldon finished in 57th position, Ella Whitfield & Emily Marshall-Roberts in 94th.<\/p>\n

The squad secured 7th place of the 14 teams earning 8 League points. Following the conclusion of Race 4, BRJ has a total of 30 League Points & sit in 7th position overall & UP from 9th place. As listed below, this race saw 1 Venue PB & 3 Venue Debuts. Our unluckiest athlete was Henry, who exactly matched his 2022 PB time.<\/p>\n

SENIOR<\/strong>
\nOur squad consisted of 22 members (15 Men & 7 Women). First BRJ\u2019er home today was Keelan Duffy in a fantastic 4th position, very closely followed by Mark Sampson in his Venue Debut. Our first Woman was Marcela Gracova in 21st position (2nd Woman overall) 4th Girl) followed by Heledd Marshall-Roberts.<\/p>\n

The squad secured an excellent 6th place of the 16 teams, their highest finish position for this season by 2 places & earning 11 League Points. Following the conclusion of Race 4, BRJ has a total of 38 League Points remaining in 8th position overall. The team scorers were Keelan Duffy, Alice Edwards, Marcela Gracova, Jim Greenley, Sam Hathaway, Stuart Hathaway, Heledd Marshall-Roberts, Paul Mitton, Mark Sampson & David Spurle. This race saw 2 Venue PB’s & 8 Venue Debuts.<\/p>\n
