At the Peterborough 1\/2 Marathon, 1 member was attempting a Guinness World Record.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parkrun Junior 2K<\/strong><br \/>\nKatie Lasseter again led home the entire field at Jubilee Park securing a 2 Sec Club 2K PB, her 7th PB of 2022.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parkrun 5K<\/strong><br \/>\nBRJ\u2019ers returned to East Coast Park (Singapore), Humber Bridge, Mildenhall Hub, Storeys Field, University Parks, Whittlesey &amp; York. At Huntingdon, Nick Harris earned a 25 Sec Club PB. Our unluckiest athlete was Richard Braddick who missed out on a PB by 2 Secs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cambridge Town &amp; Gown 10K<\/strong><br \/>\n8 BRJ\u2019ers were among the 1,823 finishers. The squad was led home by Jonathan Harding in his first sub-40 Min run &amp; which represented a new Club PB by 4 mins dead when compared to his run in 2021\u2019s Peterborough New Years Eve 10K. The runners appreciated the unexpectedly warm conditions, which was very much welcomed with the delays to the start of both races. The longer delay was to the start of the 1\/2 Marathon which as it turns out was a result of an ambulance on an emergency call running over &amp; destroying the timing mats on the start line. For your diary, the date of next years GER event has been announced as the 15th October 2023.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5K<\/strong> &#8211; Just 2 BRJ\u2019ers, Matthew &amp; Rebecca Ainscow, were among the 474 participants finishing in positions 176 in a time of 00:30:17 (Matthew) &amp; 178 \/ 00:30:18 (Rebecca).<\/p>\n<p><strong>1\/2 Marathon<\/strong> &#8211; 15 BRJ\u2019ers successfully completed the race among the 2,304 finishers, resulting in 2 successful Debut Club 1\/2 Marathons &amp; 4 new Club 1\/2 Marathon PB\u2019s. Our debutants were Kerry Surkitt &amp; Sam Hathaway who turned 17 just days before race day.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-4528 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/brjrunandtri.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Keelan-205x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"205\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brjrunandtri.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Keelan-205x300.jpeg 205w, https:\/\/brjrunandtri.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Keelan-699x1024.jpeg 699w, https:\/\/brjrunandtri.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Keelan-768x1125.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/brjrunandtri.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Keelan.jpeg 843w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 205px) 100vw, 205px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Keelan Duffy was our lead man and alongside his Mother, Shelley, was attempting to break the Guinness World Record for \u201cThe Fastest Combined 1\/2 Marathon by a Mother &amp; Son\u201d. They actually broke the World Record that was in place when they registered to undertake the attempt, but just 2 days before the GER the World Record was lowered down to 2:44:00 &amp; sadly they just missed out on breaking the record.<\/p>\n<p>Marcela Gracova was again our leading lady &amp; secured a new Club PB by 41 Secs over the time she set at Cambridge in 2021. Her new time reduced the margin to 1 Min 14 Secs behind that set by the current Club Women\u2019s 1\/2 Marathon Champion (former member Sabrina Crothall) &amp; was her 7th Club PB of 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Stuart Hathaway, Tim Legge &amp; Richard Orrell were our other PB\u2019ers by margins of 4 Mins 25 Secs (PB #5 of 2022), 6 Mins 1 Sec (PB #9) &amp; 16 Secs (PB #4) respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Our runners certainly welcomed the Club support around the course. Despite a cramp issue in the latter stages, Paul pressed on to finish in position 52 (4th in Age Category) in a time of 3:18:14 &amp; bettering his previous Club Marathon PB by 5 Mins 17 Secs when compared with the time set at Shakespeare Marathon (Stratford-on-Avon) back in April 2022. This was PB #9 of 2022. An Age Graded score of 69.21% counted towards the Senior Running Championships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yorkshire Marathon<\/strong><br \/>\nHeledd Marshall-Roberts was amongst a large field of 3,525 participants tackling this scenic, but undulating course. Heledd finished in position 987 in a time of 3:48:27. This bettered her previous Club Marathon PB by a 4 Mins 59 Secs margin when compared with the time set at London in October 2021. This was PB #6 of 2022.
