EA coach Bill Boyd, together with athletes Ellie Welch and Isaac Akers, coached on three of Wednesday night's track sessions and provided the BRJ coaches with further training plans with the aim of improving members performance at the St Neots half-marathon.

The visits were part of England Athletics' Club Run programme, a free initiative specifically aimed at supporting road running clubs.

The miserable weather on Sunday did not stop a big BRJ turnout at the St Neots half over the weekend.  Despite the awful running conditions 56 of us ran the course, and there were some amazing results!  David Hudson won the race in an amazing time of 1.13.39, congratualtions!  The wind could not stop 8 BRJers getting new PBs; Ed Crothall, David Ward, Ian Shipley, David Barrett-Hague, Claire Ashton, David Lawrence, Claire Few and David Senior all clocking in with a new personal best time. Congratulations to BRJ juniors for retaining their second place position at Sunday's Frostbite Friendly League Race. The race was held at Nene Park by Bushfield Joggers and the BRJ juniors came second to Hunts AC to maintain their overall second position after two races.
Well done to first boy William Dales (pictured) who was fourth overall in a time of 6.58 and first girl CC Hime who was 26th overall in a time of 7.37, over the 1.5 mile course.

On Sunday 30th October, four BRJ members journeyed to West Walton for the long running Fenland 10 road race. Conditions were perfect for the fast ten mile course with everyone achieving their own goals for the day, including a personal best for Gilles Corby.

Chip time

On October 15th, 17 teams comprising over 100 BRJ and friends met  for a quizzical evening of fun and games. Special thanks go to Steve Scott and the time he spent devising the questions along with Nick Watts who also looked after the technology on the night. Steve was joined as quiz master by Simon Lumley. Steve and Nick devised diverse and taxing questions on subjects from sports to TV, general knowledge and Name That Tune!
