The under 11 boys kicked off the champs and saw great team-packing resulting in a bronze medal for Team BRJ and PBs for both Dominic Pauley and Livio Mosca. The under 11 girls’ event saw two of the three BRJers finish within the top ten.

 

Keelan Duffy and Ed Cochrane PBd in the U13 boys as did Lauren Elliott in the U13 girls’ event in which BRJ managed a fourth place team. The combined finish time for the BRJ team was EXACTLY the same as the team given the bronze medal position, but their total finish positions were just slightly better.

It was another frost free Frostbite at today's Hunts AC event at Hinchingbrooke Park. Seniors paid tribute to long-term league organiser, Adrian Jarvis with 30 seconds of clapping before their race. Both juniors and seniors slipped around muddy courses through the park.

It was a family affair for the Loosleys at today's Olympic Park 5k in aid of the Mo Farah Foundation. Chloe was first female and 19th out of a field of 500 runners in an amazing personal best time of 20:48!

 

image Ellie ran by herself in around 33 minutes and James and Mum Jo enjoyed a run walk and even knocked nine minutes of Jo's 5k time.

On a very blustery Saturday morning, BRJ fielded three teams in the inaugural Christmas Pudding Race in Cambridge, in aid of Cancer Research UK. The race was more a bit of fun than the “proper” running we are used to, nonetheless we took our racing seriously and went dressed as Super Heros and the Cat in the Hat and her Things.

The benefits of running are well known: health; fitness; meeting challenges and surpassing goals; making new friends. For Ed and Sabrina, running brought them together. Ed described their first run together as a revelation. Although the pace was fast Sabrina, stuck with him. Now, of course, Sabrina's  status in the club has become legendary as one club record after another is broken by her amazing running. We were delighted to hear that they wished to be more than running buddies but married running buddies. Only one thing stood in their way, Ed had to join BRJ.

The concept of the BRJ Steeplechase came from Chairman, David Newton who wanted to create a fun event for the autumn calendar with great training value for all members. Registration opened at 9.30am near the Chinese Bridge in Godmanchester and also marked the start and finish. The first groups started at 9.45am and the event closed at 3.00pm and over 30 members took part. Seven courses were available, ranging from running and walking 7.5km and visiting three steeples or towers, to 30km visiting 10.
