Roger Going to World Duathlon Championships in Spain

BRJ athlete Roger Holliday has qualified for both the European and World Duathlon Sprint finals this year to be held in Holland and Spain by finishing 2nd in his age category 45-49 in a time of 1:09:02 at the Oulton Park Spring Duathlon on 16th March.

Places in the GB ITU World Championship team are given to top four finishers in qualifying events like the Oulton Park Duathlon. Roger also finished high enough in the Clumber Park event a week later on 23rd March to reach the qualifying standard for a second time. Well done Roger!

The European Duathlon championships are being held at Horst in Holland on 13th April and the World Championships are at Pontevedra, Spain on the 1st June Roger is targeting a top 15 finish in the Europeans he has had an injury and so doesn't expect to be at his best he should be fully fit again and hoping to finish in the top 10.
