Euphoria and Disappointment at Ironman Wales

It was tears of joy and disappointment for members taking part in Ironman Wales on September 13th. The race is well established as having one of the most challenging bike and run courses on the Ironman calendar. This is balanced by Tenby's North Beach providing the most spectacular swim location.

Three members set off on the gruelling course, Andy Darby, Chris Gale and Adrian Beer (pictured). All three covered the 2.4 mile sea swim in great times and it was looking good for the 112 mile bike. Unfortunately for Chris, an accident on the bike forced him to pull out. The other two continued and finished in very impressive times. Even more impressive when you realise that 2030 triathletes took part. And, in case you're wondering, the times are in hours. This is one very long race!
