BRJ Juniors at the National Cross Country Championships Loughborough
Six runners from BRJ Run and Tri competed at the National Cross-Country Championships for years, 5, 6 and 7 at Prestwold Hall in Loughborough on Saturdat 24th March . Despite the fierce competition from runners across the country, two of the BRJ juniors placed in the top 20 of their races.
After the original course turned into a mud bath after the recent Inter-Counties race, the organisers had to devise a completely new course at the last minute which was flat and fast paced course with a couple of sharp switch backs. The later runners still got to experienced lots of mud.
In the year 5 girls race Jemima Davey came 19th in a time of 7:48.
In the year 6 boys race, Liam Conway came 11th in a very good time of 7:38. This was a very good pefromance given quality of the competition and the state of the course. Joseph Lewey came 166th in a time of 8.55 and Connor Rylance came 243rd in a time of 9:46.
In the year 7 girls race Jodie Elliott came 123rd in a time of 12:53 in the girls race and Dominic Pauley came 81st in a time of 11:29 in the year 7 boys race.
