Members of BRJ Run and Tri were up before the lark to celebrate the longest day. Running before sunrise at just after four in the morning, 25 members ran around Portholme water meadow as the sun rose over the river Ouse.
They met again at nine in the evening before the sun set to run from Houghton to St Ives.
The novelty of running so early in the morning and again so late in the evening proved to be a lot of fun. For some the end of the longest day ended in a well-deserved drink in the local pub.
